HISTORY & LEGACY
The Cincinnati Ballet was founded in 1958 as Cincinnati Civic Ballet, and after being registered as a professional company, had its very first performance in 1964 – the newly developed ballet by guest choreographer Joseph Levinoff, Chopin Piano Concerto in F Minor.
Since then, the Cincinnati Ballet made its mark in the industry as one of the nation’s very best, often staging major productions, beloved ballet repertoire, new works, and also offering intensive programmes and workshops for talented young dancers, children, and serious dancers in pursuit of higher education in a professional company environment. The Cincinnati Ballet often undertake tours across the nation and Europe respectively.
The Cincinnati Ballet, through the years, has been home to some of the world’s most iconic dancers, including Roman Jasinski and Darren Anderson.
