Besides no one person is perfect, but, in the world of performance art, Lin-Manuel Miranda is as close to as possible. Miranda wrote the show and even acted as Alexander Hamilton himself during the first run of the show!
Created from the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. The production covers Hamilton’s career as an American Founding Father and his participation in the American Revolution and the political and economic history of early U.S.A.. And finally Hamilton's tragic demise to Vice President Aaron Burr in a duel.
After debuting in 2015, Hamilton went on to earn 8 Drama Desk Awards, 11 Tony Awards from 18 nominations, and the Pulitzer Prize in 2016.
Miranda and the cast of the show set out to tell the tale of "America then, as told by America now." To do so, the production casts ethnic minority actors as the American Founding Fathers and other major roles.
